This past December, Ray "Sundown" Pittman passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018, just 5 days short of his 100^th Birthday. Ray and Hortense were very active in all that is African violet attending many Conventions and Shows.  Ray was a past President of the Dixie African Violet Society.  While Hortense hybridized (as she still does), Ray took care of the other needs of the business. Before that, he served in the US Army, and after that was a Railroad Yard Manger.
